I bought Felicity with my Christmas and birthday money in late Dec. 1997. I wasn't exactly sure which historical I wanted b/c I hadn't read many of the books, but my mom suggested Felicity b/c of the red hair (I have red hair). So I bought her and read her books and she is my FAVORITE historical character!

After stumbling upon and joining this board in November, I fell in love with AGT #24, so I asked my dad for her and got her for Christmas 2005.

Kirsten is my 2nd favorite historical character (I haven't read all of everyone's books yet- just all of Lissie, Kirsten, Sam, and Molly). And so I really wanted her and saved my money and bought her!

I received Kirsten for my eighth birthday. I chose Kirsten because there were only three to choose from, and I thought she looked the most like me. I also had the books read to me at a young age and fell in love with Kirsten's character/era.

Singing Bird (GT2) was purchased after months of saving for a companion for Kirsten. She was the closest I could come to a doll that looked like Singing Bird.ALothough, even if I had waited, I don't think Kaya looks like Singing Bird in the books. Maybe Marisol . . .maybe not.

I bought Felicity because I found her so cheap on ebay, and in the work gown.

    I won Kaya.

I loved Josefina from the moment she came out. I finally found one I couldn't resist on ebay and went for it.

I bought Kit on ebay because I really wanted one of the older Kit dolls. I just love the freckles and the cheeks!!

I purchased two Marisols because I wanted one for myself (Louisa) and one to sell in a few years for a profit.

I bought Erilyn (AG21) because she is so different from, all of the other dolls. I love her eyes and her hair!

I got Addy for my birthday from my fiance (who cunsulted me first). He bought her from a board member.

I just bought Jess!! I ordered her tonight actually. I will hopefully buy a few more to hold onto. I like the face mold, and the idea of a homeschooled AG. I also am dying to play with her hair.

    Hmm....let's see...

    1. Feb. 2005 - Piper (Marisol) was my first doll. My best friend's daughter got an AGOT last Christams (this year she got Nellie) and I just loved playing with her hair, and dressing her up. I sort of decided that I wanted a doll, but I couldn't decide between Kit, Marisol, and a couple of AGOTs. I finally settled with Marisol when I saw an eBay auction for her that showed a pic of the actual doll, and not a catalog photo. I thought she was just gorgeous, and had great hair to play with. The other factor, was that I discovered that the mom of one of my Girl Scouts was an AG collector, and so it made me feel more comfortable knowing that adults can own dolls too. Well, as everyoe here knows, AGs are like Pringles - you can't have just one - which leads me to...

    2. May(?) 2005 - Lindsey the moment I saw her on eBay for the first time, I know she had to be mine. She was MY just like you doll. The only thing that would have made Lindsey more like me, is if she wore glasses, and that is easily remedied! I drooled over her for a couple of months before I actually got up the you-know-whats to bid and win her. She was in perfect condition, and for $203 +S&H, she had better have been! But, I made up a little of the difference with----

    3. Aug. 2005 - Samantha I found her at a garage sale of all places. She was missing her tights, but was otherwise basically never played with. She had been given to a pre-teen girl who had never cared for her, and put her away for about three years. I brushed her hair, and she was beautiful! Even more beautiful, was that I only had to pay $25 for her! After that I took a break, and felt like three dolls was a lot. It didn't seem right to have more than that, especially at age 32! Well, a couple weeks after that birthday, I stumbled upon this place, yes I'm talking about all of you, and I was a complete goner! Everyone was so supportive, and friendly. The problem was that everyone was so supportive and friendly that I bid on and won:

    4. Oct. 2005 - Mia (PM AGOT#4) and two PM Bitty Babies. I got them all in one lot for $80. But, Mia unfortunately had chopped hair that was not disclosed in the auction, and the seller gave me a $25 refund. So, now I had 4 AGs and 2 BBs. Wow, I had a lot of dolls, who needed more? Apparently me.

    5. Nov. 2005 - Kit (& Lindsey #2) I happened to be trolling on eBay, adn a wondrous auction laid itself in front of my eyes: Lindsey AND Kit for $105 BIN. I didn't really look, I just BIN'd them. They had not-so-great hair. A little girl had tried to use a curling iron on them. Kit had shimmer powder on her face, and what's this?! She has silver eye! Oops! I quick call to AG had a brand new Kit on her way to my home! Lindsey's hair wasn't as bad as I had originaly thought. It was just a couple of small pieces on the sides, whick I straighted and recurled, and then she looked fabu! I listed her on eBay for a BIN of $175. In the end, I got a new Kit and a profit of about $60! So, that's been it since before the holidays, that is until yesterday...

    6. Jan. 2006 - Lindsey Yesterday I happened upon yet another great eBay BIN - Lindsey for $60. But, she is not merely Lindsey, she is fully clothed, looks to be in great condition, and comes with the fruity B-day outfit, the picnic cooler with food, and thefood from the school lunch set, minus the tray (which the seller is looking for.) And that's not all, yes she comes with her book, which is signed by the author, and there is even a Lindsey button that I have never even seen before!!! I am stunned. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep her, but I just might. I really want to do a travelling doll, and I couldn't bear to part with my first Lindsey. I could also keep her, and have twin Lindseys, or "Twindseys!" Or, I could just sell her for a huge profit. I haven't decided yet, but I'll more than likely keep her.

Wow, if you've read this far, than I am flattered, and you have my sympathies for hanging in so long! Sorry, I guess that was a bit long-ish. But, those are my dolls! (So far........ )

Reita (AGOT 20): I got her for Christmas after years of wanting an AG doll.

Josefina: I wasent really into AG, but I had some money left to me from my Grandma, and I knew that an AG would be worth it. Needless to say... she re-awakend my love of AG.

Hannah-Amelia (AGOT 18): No reason really... I just fell in love with her.

Birdie (AGOT 25): I thought up her character and personality about a year ago, and when AGOT 25 was released, She fit Birdie's character perfectly. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
